3rd Student Level (2026)
Keeping contact, locking, throwing — and back on your feet from any position.
The complete exam syllabus for the 3rd Student Level, organized into principles, falling, core work and self-defense. Three new principles are added. The first is contact: instead of working visually and looking for where something is, you touch and feel. Contact is established as fast as possible and held as long as possible — including when the opponent is already on the ground and you would have been finished in the first two grades. It is precisely this obligation to stay connected that trains timing, soft legs and body structure. Added to that are the extended parallel as part of the stance, and throwing the arms with a downward impulse. In practice, falling is expanded into every direction, moving on the ground is developed from scratch and carried through forward and backward rolls up to rolling from standing. Strike defense is improved and extended by the dynamic stance. The series of locks from the 2nd Student Level continues with arm and wrist-flexion locks, locks on the ground and finger locks. Among the throws, the leg trip, the major outer reap and the sacrifice throw are added — the latter one in which you fall yourself while throwing and pull the opponent along with your own body weight. Two follow-up chapters show how locks and throws are used flexibly when the partner interferes. Self-defense with the combat roll closes the program. Runtime 69 minutes · 20 chapters to jump to directly · Language German · Subtitles German, English, Spanish, French, Russian The 1st and 2nd Student Levels should be solid — this grade builds on both.
